Graham J Connolly

 Graham is the founder of Family & Private Business Advisors Group and his experience spans 30 years as a Senior Partner with Horwath & Horwath, 10 years National Chairman of the firm and member of the International Council.  During this time he was a frequent speaker in the US, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. 

 His experience has always been in service to Family and Private Business Owners and in 1982 he developed a specialist consulting program to service their needs and a manual to train other Advisors.  As a result, he has been involved with some 300 assignments ranging from small family businesses to large well-known private companies with sales in excess of $100M.

 Graham continues to provide seminars for one, two or three generations involved in Family or Private Businesses as well as for customers of Banks, Financial Planners, Insurance Companies, and Members of Professional and Industry Bodies.  He identifies the Key Issues that need to be addressed by all Owners and Managers of Family and Private Businesses for their continuing success and assists them to arrive at the solution which satisfies their particular situation.

 He has written and published numerous articles, appeared on radio and television highlighting both the issues and solutions to the problems confronting Family and Private Business.  He is author of The Private World of Family Business published in August 1996.  The book draws on his experience as a Family and Private Business Advisor and was highly recommended by the US Magazine “Family Business”.   

 Graham is a Fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants, Chartered Secretaries, Australian Institute of Company Directors and Associate of the Australian Institute of Management.

John A Pagett

 John was Managing Director of Australian Chemical Holdings Limited, a Director of its Australian and overseas subsidiaries and of its superannuation trustee companies for ten years until his retirement in 1996.

 He has over 40 years experience in industry, initially as an industrial chemist then in marketing, operations and general management including an eighteen month assignment in the USA.  His areas of expertise include manufacturing, both repetition and batch, national distribution, exporting/offshore operations, licensing and technology transfer negotiations.  He has negotiated the successful purchase and divestment of many business entities with a number of acquisitions being from Family and Private Business Owners. 

 In his five years as an Advisor, John has assisted many clients arrive at the correct decision for their business which has included:

John H Randall

 John is a full-time mentor and corporate advisor to family and private businesses and chairs several of them. He is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. He has over 30 years international experience involving leadership positions in private and public companies in Australia, Africa and the USA and is a former CEO of The Hospitals Contribution Fund of Australia Ltd (HCF) and of Ramsay Healthcare Ltd.  

 John is a lateral thinker and strategic planner with a sharp analytical mind and has a clear focus on bottom line performance. He is highly experienced in the management of cultural and administrative change across three continents and has excellent marketing, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. 

 As an advisor using an interviewing technique, John has developed a particular understanding of the “human issues” Family and Private Business Owners have to address and the consequences to clients’ businesses if these matters are not dealt with openly, fairly and expeditiously.
